The holiday spirit is all about giving. What better way to spread some cheer than by giving back to those within our community. It can be a small gesture such as purchasing canned goods, candy for Christmas bags or sponsoring a Christmas angel. Below are some of the Outreach holiday opportunities you can help with.
CANDY
Save the left-over Halloween candy. We are collecting candy to fill candy bags (Youth and Frogs will be decorating) that will go in the Christmas food boxes.
THANKSGIVING\ CHRISTMAS FOOD BOXES
Between Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays, we will be preparing over 130 food boxes. All food items are needed but especially the items listed below:
November: Canned sweet potatoes, family size cookies or Christmas cakes, cooking oil, Corn Bread Mix, pancake mix and syrup
December: Family size cereal, pop tarts, green beans, corn, soup, and pop tarts
CHRISTMAS ANGELS
In 2023, JPC (family, friends, companies) sponsored 150 Christmas angels. We are currently working with school counselors and caseworkers on an angel list from Family Services, Jamestown Elem, Haynes Inman, and Church World Services. You can help in several ways to make this a blessed Christmas for these children:
- Sponsor 1 or 2 children
- Get together with friends, family, a card group, and sponsor 1-2 children
- Ask your workplace to sponsor a family
- Donate toward angels and we will have volunteers shop for you
- Donate 25.00 toward a gift card that will go in the Christmas food box
We hope to receive 60-70 dollars per child, but any amount is appreciated. Angel information will be ready the end of the week of November 8th.
We have all been blessed with so much. JPC Outreach hopes you will prayerfully consider helping with our Holiday opportunities.
